Safe Horizon is the nation’s leading victim assistance organization. Their mission is to provide support, prevent violence, and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities in New York City.

The organization’s marketing team was eager for a fresh look to attract high-level donors and encourage them to make continuing monetary commitments.

I provided the art direction and design talent for a series of publications created to reach their goals. Based on my design, the publications were templated out for further issues.

Cover and feature design for Blacktop magazine. A publication that celebrates the patchwork parts, greasy tools, and rugged determination of your average backyard mechanic. No spotless garages and bikini-babes here. Just dirty hands, hard work and the satisfaction of a job well done.

I did the layout and typography, as well as art direction for the cover and first interior spread (the arm going over the engine) photoshoots.
